Gregoire: [Introduces Sahaja Yoga in French.]

[Talk starts at 11:05] Shri Mataji: I’m sorry I don’t know French. But the language of love is the same. I’m very happy that in Paris, so many of you are seeking the truth. When I first met Gregoire, he was the first French seeker I had met. He was an extremely anxious person. And the anxiety was because he was very aware of the problems facing the humanity. It’s a sign of your calibre and your intelligence to be aware of the problems that we are facing today. Most of us face the problems and become miserable and live a very miserable life with it. But some of us do feel that there must be a solution for all this. We have to be brave and courageous to see this. Behind all that anxiety of Gregoire, I saw that bravery. And there are so many young people today all over the world who have that bravery in them.

So, for Sahaja Yoga, first of all, you should be a seeker and you should be brave to achieve the ultimate. We have to understand that God has created this great universe. He has created us also. Is He going to allow this creation to be destroyed? He must have made some arrangements to save it. After all, He is the greatest artist and the greatest planner. If we ask one question to ourself, all the scientists also should ask this question that, "Why I was made from amoeba, a human being?" One can find a purpose behind our creation. Nobody works so hard for thousands of years, to create a unique thing like a human being.

This problem was faced by many seers in the ancient times. And through their meditative power, they discovered the instrument that is within us, which is going to trigger this emancipation. This knowledge was kept absolutely secret for thousands of years. They were experimenting with it until they found out the proper solution, they were not willing to disclose it. Now they found out that within us lies a power which gives us our desires, through which we get the power to exist. This power is shown in this chart on the left-hand side. From right it comes down and settles down at the base. All our desires in the past, which have given us conditionings, all our past is recorded in this area, all our subconscious. And the area beyond it, on the left-hand side, represents all the collective subconscious, means all that is dead before.

Now on the right-hand side, you have another power which comes from the left-hand side, moving down like that, is the power of action, called as Pingala Nadi. It’s the, in Sanskrit language, it is called as ‘Kriya Shakti’. The channel is called power of action, called as ‘Kriya Shakti’. These two powers manifest outside in the gross as left and right sympathetic nervous system. And both these powers remain in those channels, in a subtle way, inside the spinal cord. As a by-product of the right-hand power, which is called as the action power, we develop our ego in the brain, as shown in the yellow colour.

And on the left-hand side, you see this power which gives as a by-product our superego. As we grow older and older, these two things meet and form a very calcified area in this portion, from childhood.

In the center lies another power which is meant for our evolution. It first of all sustains, means gives us our quality. For example, gold has a quality that it is untarnished. That is the sustenance of the gold. We can say carbon has four valences, that is the sustenance of carbon. Thus, we also, human beings, have sustenance, which is ten in number. By getting the number of sustenances within us, by improving the sustenance within us, we evolve. This sustenance comes to us as a ladder to go into the realm of God. All the prophets who came on this earth looked after our sustenance. But incarnations like Christ came on this earth to tell us about our second birth. He told us that you are to be reborn. But perhaps most of the Christian institutions have forgotten this part of Christ’s life, which is the most important, that you are to be resurrected. That you are the Spirit. That you are imperishable, you are eternal. That you have to seek Him. That you have to knock at the door. This is the most important thing we have forgotten. But still from inside the Unconscious makes you unhappy and anxious. You are trying to find something. This immense seeking comes to you from this power of sustenance.

First, we were seeking money. Then we were seeking power. Some people seek emotional satisfaction, but nobody seems to be in joy. Because joy is the quality of your Spirit. The Spirit resides in your heart and it enjoys itself. It is absolute. But you are not aware of it. I mean to say, it is not in your conscious mind. It means that you do not feel your Spirit on your central nervous system. The central system, which is our sustenance, is represented as parasympathetic nervous system within us. This system we have achieved to a point where we receive limited energy from different subtle centres within us. These centres are nothing but the milestones of our progress so far.

Now you have reached that point where this instrument has to be put to the mains. The instrument is made for that purpose. Unless and until it is put to the mains, it has no meaning. It shows no purpose at all. It does not give you any idea as to how you are related to the whole. Say, in the darkness you come inside this room, you cannot see anything. You feel part of it and you say, "This is a table" or "This is a hanger". One fellow stands here and he says, "It’s a flower". And another shouts from there, "It is something else". And then confusion is created out of that kind of a muddled light. Understand? But the one who has made this can come and say, "Wait, there is a switch here. You just put on. Everything is made. You just have to put on the lights and the lights are on". And once the light is on, you start seeing everything. And you start understanding everything.

This one is called as enlightenment, means the Spirit which is so far not in your consciousness, enlightens your consciousness. This is what should happen to everyone who is a seeker. By this happening, you will know how are these centres within you. Like as if you are going in a car, and you don’t know what’s the matter, so you get out of the car to find out. As if you are in the water and you are frightened of the waves. But you are taken up into a boat and you see the waves. As if in a drama, you are very anxious, and suddenly the drama is over, all your anxiety is a myth. That comes to light when you get the light. In darkness, even your food may look like a devil to you. This myth is only broken when the light of Spirit comes into you. This is Self-realization.

But with this, you will be amazed, that your Spirit is the reflection of the universal Being, you also become a universal being. I say ‘you become’. I say ‘you become’, it is an actual happening. It is an actualization. It is not brainwashed. It’s a living thing. It has to happen within you as a living thing happens spontaneously, means ‘Sahaja’. ‘Saha’ means ‘with’ and ‘ja’ means ‘born’. Like we see something spontaneously, the power to see is spontaneous. It is born with us. So the right to be one with God is born with you. The yoga means the union with the Spirit, with the God Almighty. You cannot know God with these eyes, but with the eyes of the Spirit. You have to know your Self, your Spirit, to know the All-pervading Power. It’s all working. All is dynamism.

Like, I say that in this place there are many pictures and music, you won’t believe. But if there is a television and I plug into the mains, you can see there are. As soon as you get attached to that, you start emitting the Spirit. The manifestation takes place in your conscious mind, in your central nervous system, as cool breeze flowing from your hand. In the Quran, it is called as ‘Ruh’. Even in the Bible it is mentioned many a time as the cool breeze of the Holy Spirit. Many poets who were Realized souls have some praise of it. For example, in English, we have a great poet called as William Blake, and he calls it a whirlwind sometimes and sometimes a gentle breeze. In France also, you had many people who were Realized souls. Realized soul doesn’t sing the song of lamentation and separation, but sings the pride of being one with God, the glory of his being. And that is what has to happen to you.

We are so much interested in our past, I find, and so many ambitious, in the future. You have to be in the present. Present is dynamic, is beyond space and time. But you cannot. If I tell you, you cannot. By just telling you, you cannot. Something has to happen for you to go into that realm of present. For example, a thought rises and falls off by itself. So the thought becomes a past. And then your mind goes to the future thought. And your mind is all the time jumping on the cusps of these thoughts, either on the past or on the future. But somehow, a happening takes place by which these two thoughts are removed, the ego and superego both sucked in, and your attention taken to the present.

What is that happening is the Kundalini awakening. Kundalini is a power which is placed in the triangular bone called as sacrum. The word ‘sacrum’ means sacred. Perhaps the Greeks knew the significance of this bone. This bone is very important because medically, it is found out, when the body burns completely this bone cannot be burned. This three and a half coiled up energy stays in that bone very conveniently and very comfortably waiting for an occasion to rise. It remains with the person in many ages, in many lives. It is the eternal mother of every individual. She is waiting for that moment when she will give you your second birth. When somebody who is a master, who is the one who knows this Kundalini, confronts a seeker, it rises spontaneously. She knows everything about you and about the person who is facing you. That’s why it was said that for Self-realization you have to have a guru.

And once such a subject starts, you see, the market gets flooded with gurus. And you see, there are so many fake gurus in the market, and a lot of guru-shopping is on. And such a mesmerism going on, that it is very hard to get out of this till you are completely ruined. Especially in the West, where this knowledge is very unknown. People are taking full advantage of the naiveness about spirituality. You have to know that you cannot pay for the love of God. He created this universe because He loved you. And if He has to give you Realization, He will do it because He loves you. You cannot purchase his love nor can you organize it. It is his Grace that will bring forth this happening within you. Because He knows you are a seeker. Even if you are misguided, He is compassionate, He forgives you. He looks after you. And the Self-realization is granted.

Once you are Realized, you can give Realizations to others. For example, if one light is enlightened, it can enlighten many lights. These gurus have given you nothing! Except for emptying your purses and selling your houses. What power have you got within you? Have you been able to know what’s wrong with another person or with you? Have you been able to know whether you are progressing forward or backwards? You have no moorings, you are lost. With Sahaja Yoga, you know everything what you are doing. You know how this power works. And you know all these subtle centres which express themselves as gross plexuses within you.

As a result of Self-realization, people suffering from cancer have been cured. All kinds of incurable diseases like arthritis, like diabetes and so many of these have been cured by Sahaja Yoga. But Divine is not interested in curing you, but giving you the power to cure others and to help others. It is interested in giving you your Spirit, your own powers. Those who do not want it, Divine is not interested in them. If supposing these lights are no good for enlightenment, why should we carry them on? Why should we repair them? They are sent into a junk. But if you are a seeker, you get your physical well-being, your mental well-being and your emotional well-being. But first thing is that you have to have your light on. And then you understand, in that light, what I’m talking about. When you are in darkness, it is no use talking about all the electricity and its history and its evolution. Best thing is to have your Self-realization first.

Luckily this time, I’m in Paris for about four, three, four days. And I will devote some time to all of you. In Sahaja Yoga, the Mother has to work very hard. You don’t have to work at all. You have to be effortless. But when you get your Realization, then you have to work. Like Christ had to cross, take the cross upon himself to save others. [Cut in the audio]

…What? The results, the fruits are so great that we have to do it. This is the only solution of all our problems, economic, political, social. All this confusion will vanish as soon as we have established our absolute. Actually, we are like a computer and we are plugged to the mains and you get all the answers to all the absolute. For example, when you are realized, if you ask if there is God, you’ll get tremendous vibrations to say ‘yes’. If there is an atheist who doesn’t believe in God, if you ask him to ask a question like that, he gets vibrations. Then a person who was a lawyer and he couldn’t get his Realization, and I asked him to ask a question, "Is God abs-" [Cut in the audio]

Because that’s the gravity point. Then gradually the waves will spread on both the sides. And we can solve their problems also. But just now it is the foundation. And we need solid people. Even if there are few, it does not matter. You cannot give false certificates. It has to happen. I’m sure it will happen for most of you. I hope you will make it absolutely essential to come to two other programs wherever we are having and establish your Self-realization. Do not treat it lightly. I asked a guru, "Why do you take so much money from these Western people?" He said, "Unless and until you take money from them, they are not involved". I said, "You are wrong there. If they are like that, they are no good for God". If they are involved in their own seeking and urgency, they are the people we need for Sahaja Yoga.

And these people are really trying to make money because they know how to exploit you. One has to understand that Self-realization is the manifestation of your own Spirit, your own powers. Unless and until you get it, you are not to even accept Sahaja Yoga blindly. But you do not have to deny it also. If it works, it is good for you. If it does not work, that means there is some problem. And the problem can be corrected and you can get your Realization.

For example, if you see Christine or Marie, before Realization, you won’t recognize their photographs, they look at least ten years younger. And also Gregoire, he changed so much, that his sister was surprised too, and all his family took to Sahaja Yoga. May God bless you. The subject is too great. I will tell you tomorrow about all the centres. And day after tomorrow, what is to be done after Realization. But take this as seriously as possible. Because I can see something in you, which you cannot see. I can see that diamond in you sparkling. That’s why I value you too much and I love you very much. I wish you could see that. And then you will realize the importance of that. May God give you wisdom and strength to understand and love yourself.

Now we have the experiment which is very simple. You have to take out your shoes. If possible, [unclear]. I am so sorry for this [unclear]. Keep on your socks, it’s all right. And put your hands straight like this. You know why you have to take out your shoes? Because of earthing to the Mother Earth. Push back your shoes, push back.
